listening to THREETEN Radio - The 70's channel (look for it in your itunes radio tab).

They play a lot of Alvin Stardust, 10CC (I heard both Donna and Love is a Minestrone within 20 mins).  Earlier I heard Steve Harley & The Cockney Rebel do Here Comes The Sun.

They just laid some Sherbet on us: Howzat?  they asked.   Right arm! I replied.

I remember them when they were called The Sherbs (We Ride Tonight, I Have The Skill), which was after the Sherbet era.  The Sherbs got some airplay on my local rock station (WCMF) back in the day.

I *loved* "Howzat" -- it was a kind of "pick hit" on my college station (summer of '77) and we were all bummed that it wasn't a big hit.

Today's 2NG retro-chart is from Oct 1974!  Should be an interesting ride.

But before that: Miss Ross' sadly underappreciated "Chain Reaction", a really fab BeeGees production that was a huge hit everywhere but the US.

at #40: Robert (Soft Machine) Wyatt covering "I'm a Believer" (!)

Dionne W has that urge to feel ya -- hands off mah coke, bitch!

Brits endless early-'70s appetite for retro-'50s crapola reaches its nadir with Alvin Stardust.. But OMG it's the Hues Corp with one of the most shameless soundalike-followups evah, "Rockin' Soul" -- and yet it's still a nice bit of pop-tastic songwriting.

Livvy loves me --honestly!

OMGWTFLOL: Sparks, "Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth"! Rarity of the Week!

doo-bee-doo-bee, doo-bee-doo-bee-doo-bee! "You Little Trustmaker" is fab Philly soul.

other than david Essex's great "Gonna Make You a Star", and Ken Boothe's reggae "Everything I Own", not much else that's truly compelling in this chart

a new stream for the rotation: USA-Dance. RETRO Disco, Dance, House & Funk from roughly 1975 to 1990.

http://www.krykey.com/Radio/PRSPage.aspx?id=956

and 5 minutes after I tuned in, they played Shannon, "Let the Music Play" -- haaaaaaaay indeed.
