The Peak week of 9/26/11
« on: September 26, 2011, 07:39:29 AM »
Mon 9/26/11: 1980

Nice mix: Mr Palmer's "Johnny & Mary", EC's "Just a Memory", PG's "Games", Stones' "She's So Cold".  NRBQ's "Feel You Around me" is an ATBB, methinks.  Ah, but here's the Cars, flying like a cee-ment kite -- ya can't have everything.

Holee crap: another bustout: Fingerprintz, "Bulletproof Heart" -- they were Rachel Sweet's backing band when she toured the first couple times. BOSFRA.

Yikes, I think I would have plotzed if I'd heard Feel You Around Me on the radio. Def. a bustout.
Let's get right to it.

Tue 9/27/11: 1966!

Donovan, Kinks, Left banke, an early Rascals rarity ("Come on Up") that's surely an ATBB. Also ?/Mysterians, Beatles, Otis' "Sad Song",  Dylan takes just like a beyotch and the Monkees take the last train.

BOS Love, "7 & 7 is".

and Rob went to 11 with "Wouldn't it Be Nice"

Wed 9/28/11: 1986

Rob, like AL, can't resist playing Timbuk 3 -- and he spins Winwood's "Semen Overspill" too. BOS EC, "Hope You're Happy Now" from hos *other* LP that year, Blood & Chocolate.

BOS2 Sledgehammer!, the TV show -- hilarious and underrated. And Rob resists the urge to follow it with the PG tune of the same name. Kudos!

BOS3 UB40, "Rat in Mi Kitchen".

VHM Mr Palmer's impeccable taste in R&B covers.

BOS4 Husker F--ing Du! "Don't Want To Know If You're Lonely", an ATBB for sure.

Thur 9/29/11: 1977

Rob does his Sept '77 thang. Sorry I missed Garland Jeffreys' fab "35mm Dreams" -- easy BOS. And easy BOS2 Graham Parker's even fabber cover of "Hold Back the Night".  Ditto Iggy's orig "China Girl" and the Kinks' "Life on the Road", which may be an ATBB -- Rob's the only one who might've played it before.

eek: Kansas carries on. And Rob played Foreigner earlier so he got his mainstream licks in.

OMFG: BOS5 Clash -- so bored with the USA!

Fri 9/30/11: 1990

BOS Posies, "Golden Blunders". Glad I missed Jane's A. And Paul Simon is obvious, child.

VHM UB40 being Tempt-ing.

WOS "Tick-Tock People", people.

VHM Indigos, frequent-fliers tho' they are. INXS dye by their own hand yet again.

Sorry, all Van Morrison songs from this period all kinda blur together.

BOS2 "Hippychick"! no hip-hip-hip-hip-hip-hop!

I don't *ever* remember hearing Phish's "Bouncing Around the room" on the radio in late 1990.
