For those of us from the East Coast, he's also remembered as a Top 40 DJ at WABC, where he took over the coveted evening slot after the legendary "Cousin Brucie" left the station in the late '70s.

I always thought a great SNL bit woulda been The George Michael Sports Machine hosted by the *other* George Michael of Wham! -- with George drooling over football players, etc -- but they never went there.
