Rosalie picked a nice bonus track for today--10cc's Wall Street Shufffle--but she missed on the year, WSS was from '74.  Now if she'd played Rubber Bullets...
Let's get right to it.

10/21/09 -Midweek!!  Today's "Classic" is from...1973!!

   1.  Grand Funk Railroad - We're An American Band
   2.  Chicago - In Terms of Two
   3.  Jackson Browne - Take it Easy
   4.  Gunhill Road - Back When My Hair Was Short
   5.  Steely Dan - Bodhisattva
   6.  Bobby Goldsboro - Summer (The First Time)
   7.  Al Green - Here I Am (Come & Take Me)
   8.  Elton John - All the Girls Love Alice
   9.  Genesis - I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)
  10.  Gladys Knight & the Pips - Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)

BONUS TRACK:  10cc - Wall Street Shuffle (sorry, Rosalie -- wrong year!)

4 (count 'em) parenthetical titles!  What I don't get about the editing-out-Dave thing is: why not get AL (or somebody) to record a new backannounce, call it a "classic from the archives" and be done with it? At least the songs would be identified. Having NO backannounce seems to call more attention to the fact that something's amiss.

Whoever is picking these replays is getting on my nerves.  We're at 8 so far and a grand total of 1 set after 1980.  >:(

LOL! of course, for most of us, not hearing anything post-'86 is no great loss, but it is odd that we've been mostly '60s & '70s during AL's absence.  The "new template" of one-from-each-decade-plus-a-theme each week seems to be falling apart. Could be those '90s sets just don't thrill people.

Yeah, I've also noticed that she's really following the "template" much anymore.  She probably did that at first just until she got in the swing of things.  & it's 90s sets that seem to seem to be slighted rather than 60s sets so we're getting too many 60s repeats because she's still only doing the latter half of the 60s (except for the VT and 1964 that one time.) If she's going to do 60s every week at the expense of 90s then I'd actually rather see her do 1960-1969.  Or better yet, she should throw us for a loop and do something like 1932 sometime...I'd totally listen to that.
