The revolutionary guitarist died at his home in Germany. No confirmed cause of death, but rumor is he suffered some form of cancer.

just this past Sunday KUSF did a Spotlight show on Blue Cheer.  I heard maybe 45 minutes of their stuff, which is probably more Blue Cheer I ever heard in one place in all my years.

One thing I learned is the band started as a five piece, but decided to go as a three piece after seeing Hendrix at Monterey Pop.

I always found the contrasts between Blue Cheer's and John Mayall's versions of Parchman Farm quite entertaining!

I wouldn't disagree.
Kind of true, except for the Hendrix factor.  Blue Cheer kind of zeroed in on that side of his sound.
