Judge as usual comes up with one I haven't heard since the '80s: Taana Gardner, "Heartbeat"

"Now you know this just don't make no kinda sense/Walkin' round here so intense!"

yes, the Miracles are like a gift from above...

but, OMG:  WHAT is with this uber-warped version of Dionne Warwick's Message to Michael?  I know this show features cracked scratched and warped vinyl, and "CDs just won't cut it," but this is the worst warped disk I've heard him play.

eta:  hehe, after the record, JJ said "Oh my goodness, sounds like she's having a rough time there!"  :)

I realize Dionne does a lot of coke, but jeez...

Indeed, that was painful! (And obvious from the first notes; JJ needs to pay more attention!)

Mmmmmm.... Mashed Potatoes for breakfast!  Love how Dee Dee mispronounces "wimoweh".  Pass the gravy, please.

Dee Dee Sharp would later marry Kenny Gamble of Gamble & Huff, and record this fab cover of 10cc's "Im Not In Love" (enuf to make even Gaz like 10cc, I'll wager):

an "animals" theme on Bob Shannon's 'LNG show today and LAWD! Al Wilson does "The Snake", followed (appropriately) by Donovan's "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", which I haven't heard in ages.

NTM: Bunny Sigler -- Fauxtown by way of Philly, "Follow Your Heart". ("Northern Soul" as the Brits would say)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1dwIcnsv6M

and it's followed by another NTM act, The What Four (girl group who played their own instruments, apparently): "I'm Gonna Destroy That Boy" (!) which sadly isn't on the YT.

yet another NTM gem: the Monkees, "Here Comes Tomorrow", Davy on lead vox.

And Neil Diamond on pen.  PS: The formal title is "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
