After an uneventful Jukebox on CG, I'm listening to Little Steven on-line, catching up with last week's show which I missed most of.  He just played Graham Parker's "Passion is no Ordinary Word" which I hadn't heard in years. Squeezing Out Sparks is one if the GREAT forgotten albums of that period, I am astounded it isn't a Morey staple, he's played maybe one track from it ("Local Girls") if memory serves.

The stream for Steven's show, BTW, is vastly improved, it used to cut out quite frequently but it's swell today.

On CG: Julie Covington's original version of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". This is quite a treat.  Ms. Covington also had a hit in the UK with a cover of -- get this -- Alice Cooper's "Only Women Bleed".

Well, Mr Essex played "Che" in the London version, I believe.  The CZJ duet is "True Love ways" I assume it's the old Buddy Holly thang.

so the jock filling in for Dean starts to play a request, and it's the wrong song -- "Music to Watch Girls By" by Andy Williams. "hang on, hang on, that's not the one she wanted -- somehow the CD went from track 18 to track 17." and he proceeds to play the correct tune, which is... Dylan, "Tangled Up in Blue"!

What compilation CD could possibly have both those songs back-to-back???

I did -- I was having night-before-the-big-gig insomnia, otherwise, I'd not have known he was hosting.  His acting was painfully wooden (especially the throwing-the-football skit) but he looked good in the falafel restaurant piece.

Yup, "Hair."  The latter half was sung by Treat Williams in the movie version.
