KBCO, 6/2/08: It's 1991

From Deadicated, Los Lobos, "Bertha."  Can't believe Geoff, Ali, and Mark are all missing this.

Followed by another bustout: Dire Straits, "Heavy Fuel."

Coulda done without Marc Cohn's "True Companion" and Blues Traveler's "All in the Groove."  '91 can be shallow ground when you can't play teen pop or New Jack.

BoDeans were a snooze, and Ginger opts for the acoustic version of Seal's "Crazy" rather than the Trevor Horn hit overproduction.  My attention span is fading fast.

Didn't need another rendition of Nirvana's "Come As You Are," but Stephen Stills' "Treetop Flyer" gets rarity points.

WOS to R.E.M.'s "Radio Song" because I despise KRS-One.

WOS2 to the closer, Buddy Guy's pointless remake of "Mustang Sally."  And we're outta here - I have a lunch coffee appt.

Now, see, if I said that, I'd be a cranky, hip-hop-hating, middle-aged white guy ;)

So why do you despise K1?

Mostly because he came to my college and spouted a lot of anti-gay rhetoric; and also because he bum-rushed PM Dawn off the stage once.

I suspected homophobia was involved; odd then that of all the rappers Stipe could've chosen...
