Oh, Pop Muzik -- that reminds me of one of my favorite mashups -- M vs Public Enemy:

http://www.kuci.org/~brianm/lancelockarm/fifth_page.html

Speaking of mashups, have you heard this guy Girl Talk?  It's insane how many samples he packs into a single "song":

http://www.myspace.com/girltalkmusic

And (heh), I bought the CD.  It's fun (infuriating) just trying to ID all the snippets, as they're often so short.  No fair cheating by looking at the Wikipedia entry unless you've given it a good try first.

and speaking of big Pips -- here's that Island Girl. Unless she's, y'know, really a dude.

She IS 6'3".  Hmmm..."One more John who make the mistake"...

I never noticed the meaning of that line -- is THAT his mistake? I thought maybe he tried to "rescue" her from the streets and got cut up by her pimp.

"Down where Lexington cross 47th Street" -- there's a 10@10 (or a NYC walking tour) to be made from NYC street references in songs.

I have no idea what his mistake was.  I think if he's a john, he's probably not trying to help.

Um, 11:18.  Daylight savings time was pushed a week this year, so maybe that's your issue.  Time changes this weekend.

ETA:  the board thinks it's earlier than it is, too.

This is our first year of extended daylight savings time -- normally we would have set the clocks back last weekend, but we do it tomorrow (the candy lobbyists got their wish!). And most computers were not prepared.  Thanksgiving (or were you kidding?) is the 22nd.

This screwed us up on Sunday.  Stupid alarm clock has the dates for daylight savings time hard-coded, so it "fell back" a week early and we were late for church.  :-P

Most computers probably *were* prepared because I think a lot of people got stung when we "sprang forward" two weeks earlier this year (back in March).
