Oh, that "talent scout" quote was cute.  "Help!" is a nice way to start.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

will I get kicked out of the club if I admit that I am almost always wrong when I try to guess whether to attribute Beatles songs to John or Paul?  Case in point "Norwegian Wood".  Never would have thought this was a John song, but couldn't tell you why not.

Ginger's still taking suggestions, Mike--ring her up and get her to pull out Oh, Yoko--bet she'd do it for sure if you tell her you're calling from SF (ok, Oakland, but still...)
Let's get right to it.

Well, we won't kick you out. But it seems (to me) too matter-of-fact about sex to be Paul's.

I'm saving my "suggestion quota" for a baseball set when/if the Rockies make the World Series.

BOS3 "Across the Universe", despite its association with that, er "movie".

BOS4 "Woman". I've been saying this for 27 years: I wish Sinatra would've covered this with a big-ass Nelson Riddle arrangement.

Well, Woman is another song directed specifically to Ms. Ono, so the "song for Yoko" slot is now filled in this set. Nice interview clip with John explaining how he came across the phrase "double fantasy."

Big ups to Ginger for pulling out a non-standard version of Imagine. Venture a guess this is from Live Peace in Toronto?

TANC: While Woman was playing, I clicked over to an SFGate page that had a banner ad for the new Cate Blanchett flick, Elizabeth. The one-word hed in the ad: Woman.
Let's get right to it.
