Bringing this to the top of the queue b/c Saturday is the deadline to renew the old board.  I'm OK with sticking with this board going forward, but I think a few people wanted to try and archive the disc.server's content.  Indeed, a lot of good material there for the archivists among us.  Anyone into the task?

I am making inquiries on the discapp message board message board.  For some reason, my posts don't seem to post.  I'll try again tomorrow...

I'm not able to do it; I was thinking it might be worth another $50 to you guys to just keep it around another year as a searchable thingy.

Actually, if we do nothing, except for post on it every once in a while, it wont go away.  It will have ads on it, but it will still be there.  It goes away if nobody posts on it for six weeks, I think.

my memory was that they would somehow give you an SQL dump, but I don't know how to deal with that anyway, but you might see if you can get it, just in case.

I just posted over there in case the 6 weeks rule is really true, the latest post was 6 weeks old as of yesterday.  I think if it is free with ads & we are only keeping it around as an archive, then let's just do that.  I'm sure we can just keep a thread going with monthly posts to maintain it.

We don't know that they would give us anything.  I'm still trying to find out if we can get something from them.  There is no automatic way to get stuff.
