For "the second day of summer," decrees Ginger, who calls Zep in from the seaside to start.  Early BOS.

Thanks for getting here on time, I came in just in time for the opening notes of Zep & was beginning to rack my brain for the correct year.

See now, "Rockaway Beach" is one I could have predicted.  But I never fail to give BOS to the Ramones.

Fred Schneider defines his entire persona with "Rock Lobster," BOS4 (after the Sly made 3).

In a set rife with unexpected gems, k.d. lang's underexposed "Summerfling" makes for a fine close.  She was never this carefree, before or since.

Unexpected gems indeed.

I'm not sure I'd ever heard that, unless it's a deep track on "Ingenue" (being the only k.d. lp I've heard in its entirety).

what a great set.  I wish I could figure out how to record it tonight.

No, it was a track from '00 -- she did an entire album of similarly breezy material, Invincible Summer, and SF was the lead single.
