Yay! and the stream is working on a Thursday!

Bob inadvertantly plugs KFOG with a reference to Kaboom breakfast cereal, and we're off to a slumbery start with the Beatles (yay), "Because", followed by the Mighty Zep, ramblin' on.  BOS 1 & 2.

I usually get around to asking questions 67 & 68 at around 25 (or 6) to 4.

So I went to check its chart position, and the band's AMG bio is one of the longest (and most interesting) that I've read there.  Check it out:

I cannot believe that was the first time you heard that!  I know Dave's played it at least once and I seem to recall us discussing it at the time.  By now you know that "GBTC" was never a single.

And that IS a great AMG bio -- I never knew that stuff about them touring Eastern Europe on the State Dept's dime.  It does explain why so many critics were so hostile to BS&T3 (well, that and their godawful cover of "Sympathy for the Devil").

Regrettably, no memory of that, and a site search of "god AND bless AND child" only turned up two unrelated threads (which provided for wildly entertaining reading, as it turns out -- you, me, and the Princess were on fire talking about Bobby, Whitney, MacMillan and "Wife."

well, I thought the review was oddly too long, and focused on the wrong things.  I was at BS&T's debut performance here, opening for Cream (Wheels of Fire weekend) and all I really remember was Al Kooper playing guitar on "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know" and how loud the horns were.  They were so loud that most of the carful of friend I drove up with (we were still in high school) bailed on the second Cream set rather than endure the second BS&T set!  I was pretty tuned in to things at the time, and don't think the Nixon thing had anything to do with their demise.  Yes, the cool hip set (I'd like to think I belonged at one time) didn't much care for the post-Kooper BS&T, but I think that simply had a lot to do with the music itself.  BS&T2 was simply too MOR.  My memories of their fans are all people I considered extremely unhip, sorority sisters, older brother-in-laws of friends, etc.
