Got in early today, and I'm glad I did--Ginger's been on it so far. Missed the Pretenders tune (well, most of it) but am now digging Master Blaster.

ETA: Btw, Mark, Master Blaster is another candidate for your "Alisons" list: "...it's hotter than July..."
Let's get right to it.

BOS "Beautiful Boy", one of my favorite Lennon solo tunes.

Wow, the intro with Yoko's prayer bell made me think Starting Over, but nay, it's Beautiful Boy.

Was tempted to go see Sean at GAMH last weekend, but was more tempted by the opportunity to stay home and veg. The prospect of three shows in the next four nights also played a big role in my choice.
Let's get right to it.

BOS #2, "Tears of a Clone"

...well that's how Ranking Roger seems to pronounce it!

More BOSes for the English Beat's inspired cover of Tears of a Clown, and also for the Kings' sublime OHW, This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide.

Nothin' matters 'cept the weekend (even from a Thursday point of view)!!!

Hi Ginger!! Shoutout from the gang in SF! (In case she's peeking here.)
Let's get right to it.

Live Big Mac, with Lindsay bringing some balls to Oh Well--not that it needed any.
Let's get right to it.

the link on the KBCO site incorrectly points to 1970 Fleetwood Mac.

A hospital?  What is it?

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

The KBCO player says this is Fleetwood Mac "Oh Well", but iirc, this is actually a cover by a group called the Rockets.

ETA: okay I'll take your guys word for it, but at around the same time the track I was thinking about was gettin airplay in St. Louis.

definitely the Mac.  Lindsay's voice and nobody else has the rhythm section to pull this off that well!

If it makes you feel better, I thought it was the Rockets at first too--even had a post halfway composed to that effect. Then, as Geoff pointed out, Lindsay's voice told me I was mistook. I'd love to hear the Rockets version again. They played at my college in 80 or 81--as I recall, they tore it up. Another Detroit band, I think. Their drummer, John "Bee" Badjanek (sp?) played in Mitch Ryder's band, iirc.

we need to change the spelling to TOTHK, just before he went on vacay Dave mentioned that 'cooker' was spelled with a 'K' back when his station kept those records in a special bin.
