WLNG Nugget o' the Day: "Ode to Billie Joe". A great American narrative poem, set to music. It never fails to mesmerize me.

It just makes me hungry.

PS: I have never heard "Rock Myself to Sleep" on the radio.  I found it once of Gracie's more embarrassingly out-of-touch moments, i.e., trying to be edgy instead of just being edgy.

TANC: WLNG Nugget o' the Day, one of your faves: BJ Thomas "Eyes of a NY Woman".  Written by the same writer(s) as "Hooked on a Feeling", I assume, or else somebody who was an excellent copycat.

Here's the irony: "NY Woman" came first.  Couldn't say why it stumbled and "Feeling" became the smash.
