Belated Happy "Pi" Day
« on: March 15, 2007, 08:53:35 PM »
yesterday, March 14th was "Pi" day -- 3.14.  Can't believe Dave and Ginger let that one pass by unnoticed.

My wife (math teacher) celebrates Pi Day in a variety of ways at school.  One of the popular things is to have a contest of how many decimal places a student can memorize.  The most so far at her school is 191.

On a related note, for those that remember any chemistry, we celebrated 'mole day' on October 23rd.  (the mole is 6.02 x 10^23) and we had a parade out on the playground.  I had the kids march with posters of digits: 6,0,2, then 21 more zeroes!
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!
