I have been thinking of a theme set, to which this song could be added, of songs where the guest female backing vox outshine the regular lead singer, such as Culture Club "Church of the Poison Mind" or Roxy Music "Avalon".

any other suggestions?

Ooooh, big BOS #5, and proxy for Urth, Paul Westerberg "Dyslexic Heart" from the Singles soundtrack.  Man did I play that disc to death in '92.

Seconding POC's suggestion of Merry Clayton on "Gimme Shelter."

And not that I'd want to hear it, but Stephen Bishop's "Save It for a Chaka Bray."  (also "Higher Love" while I'm thinking of Ms. Khan)
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Loudest LOL of the Day!

I'll add Oleta Adams on TFF's "Woman in Chains".
