HM from me too. This was part of the audio portion of a pub quiz we had after work here last week in honor of St. Pat's. Surprising how many people thought this was Eurythmics til the vocals started.
Let's get right to it.

Remember the video for "Hyperactive"?  Some guy plays the trombone with his nose.  Weird drugs.

Doesn't anyone at KFOG have the temerity to tell Dave that the Jose thing was tiresome after, like, the second day? Yeesh.

3/21/06 - Tuesday!  A good time in...1984!!!

Lou Reed - I Love You Suzanne!
Alan Parsons - Prime Time
U2 - A Sort of Homecoming
Romeo Void - A Girl in Trouble (B-O-S!!)
Eric Clapton - See What Love Can Do
Pretenders - Time the Avenger
Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Two Tribes
Corey Hart - Sunglasses at Night
Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive
Icicle Works - Whisper to a Scream
BONUS TRACK:  The The - This is the Day

Had a meeting at ten that, until the guy walked in my door, I had forgotten all about.

I woulda BOS'd tunes 3, 6, 7, 9 & 10, being the 80's guy that I am, but as usual Annalisa beats them all with her bonus track from The The.

As far as anyone having the temerity to tell Dave anything - not likely.
Irish Greg once told me, in response to a question about what corporate mgmt can tell Dave (and you have to read this sotto voce with his accent),  "It doesn't work well, because he doesn't take to it."
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

That was kind of my thought. At least on a local level, Dave is likely rather a big fish at KFOG, simply because he's outlasted everyone else (or nearly so) there. How many other employees do you think have been there since 1982? Also, I think 10@10 is one of the higher rated, if not the highest rated, features on the KFOG schedule. I'm not saying that gives him autonomy to do whatever he wants (he still knows who signs his paycheck), but it means any kind of suggestion probably has to be couched very carefully.
Let's get right to it.

listening on the replay, have to give Dave props for another nice segue.  Following up Mario Cuomo's "City On A Hill" speech with Alan Parsons "Primetime", the opening line of which is:

Even the longest night won't last forever.

This precisely sums up my feelings in late '84, even before the election, when it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Mondale/Ferraro didn't have a chance.  Shortly after the inauguration I got a poster which was a 4-year calendar ending on election day '88, titled Countdown To Freedom.  And I diligently marked every day off of that thing for the remainder of Reagan's time.

Kind of how I feel now.
