BOS3 Apocalypse Now

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

"You're an errand boy... sent by grocery clerks"

and they left out: "Charlie don't surf!"

Rollie Fingers is one of my early baseball memories. The name and the 'stache.

No.  Don't know who it is, but Rollie was wrapping up his tenure in Journey in '79.  Besides, he never could hit those notes...

Actually no.   Per AMG:

Marathon marked the addition of keyboard player Alan Pasqua and singer Greg Walker's replacement by singer/guitarist Alex Ligertwood in the Santana lineup. Otherwise, the album was notable for consisting entirely of band-written material.

Ligertwood has a 1/3 writing credit on this song as well.

Yer right.  Per AMG Rolie was on '72's Caravanserai & didn't return to the fold until '82's Shango.

This was '79? I had it pegged for later.

And sure enough, per imdb.com, Secret Policeman's Ball was released in '81.
