R.I.P. Carly Fiorina
« on: February 09, 2005, 09:28:10 AM »
Resigned under pressure as HP's CEO a couple of hours ago.

In case there was any doubt about how people really felt, shares jumped 10% in heavy trading immediately upon the announcement.

I somehow had the impression she was doing well in a difficult situation, but I don't think she ever got over the bugaboo of being a woman CEO that some people put on her.
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

I was actually a little relieved to find out she'd only resigned. Based on the subject line, I thought she was actually dead!

Enjoy the set today, gang, I'm off to the dreaded 10am meeting.
Let's get right to it.
