Not a bad list.  One of his better efforts.

10. The Beach Boys, Be True To Your School

Was it the version with or without the cheerleaders?  I've probably said this before but those cheerleaders are just awful. Fingernails-on-a-blackboard awful.

I think so.  The song is weird on so many levels, which is kind of why I like it.  I was never 'true to my school' when I was going there, but did marry a classmate, and am still in touch with many classmates.

Taking advantage of WTF being off the stream today to catch up on a few sets from the last week. Yes, this was a pretty decent selection of school songs. BOS to the Kinks song for rarity, but this isn't their best era. Bonus points for avoiding anything from The Wall.

And regarding Be True To Your School, it's a big YES on the cheerleaders. This could be a yet-to-be-coined Hit From Hell.
Let's get right to it.

I remember when the version without them got as much play as the one with.  I know that those are LA backup singers but I swear it sounds like a bunch of 40-year-old record company secretaries from Queens. "We LOIKE it! We LOIKE it!"
