VHM Sting and one of his Sumner's Tales, just because so many folks diss this album.

D'oh! I went to Denver instead of Chicago. It's not 10 yet......
Wake up Ali.

Uhh, Ali? KBCO is in Boulder, not Denver. They're not far apart, but not the same.

At least I was in the same state. :?

You went their in your mind to get that legal ounce they were talking about this morning?

I was listening to that. Peter's a silly one. Nice amount they let you have legally. But not legal is it?

I gotta give props to another band Dave's never played on 10@10: the Smashing Pumpkins. And '93 was when they were still hungry, still on the way up.
Let's get right to it.

BOS U2, dressed up like a car crash.  This is a very good '93 set, and I don't say that very often.

I liked that too.  Wish Billy Corgan was still putting out good material, but it seems he's joined a Trappist monastery or something.  Maybe he's too happy about the White Sox to have enough angst for creativity.

Yes, in Denver it is now legal (over 21, under 1 oz).  Federally it's not.  So this must mean that the FBI or DOJ could arrest you but Metro Denver cops wouldn't.

BOS3 Sonia Dada, a fine album that KFOG played the hell out of. Do these guys still exist?

Was just wondering of that's who this was--thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Yes, I think they're still around--seems to me they had an album a year or so ago, and were out here promo'ing it, perhaps even on KFOG.

So who's doing this instrumental guitar piece? It's pretty good, but I don't know that I've ever heard it. Eric Johnson? Gary Moore? It's too rootsy for Joe Satriani. And Stevie Ray was dead by '93.

ETA: Should have looked at the player--it was Danny Gatton. Another great, who is regrettably long gone as well. A suicide, iirc. We lost a couple of unsung greats around that time--Roy Buchanan commited suicide around then too.
Let's get right to it.

BOS #4 the clip from True Romance.  If any movie is just begging to be a staple for quote outtakes, that's the one.

but given the earlier US3 track, she shoulda played this exchange:

Clifford (Dennis Hopper) Worley: 'Cause you, you're part eggplant.
[all laugh]
Vincenzo (Christopher Walken) Coccotti: Ohhh!
Clifford Worley: Huh? Hey! Hey! Hey!
[motioning with his hand three times]
Vincenzo Coccotti: You're a cantaloupe.
[shoots Cliff in the face]

Did you hear his cover of the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody"?  It should still be up on his Myspace page. Oy yoi.
