beloved by many, but "Black Betty" is uber-LN for me -- it's the "go-to" classic rock One-Hit-Wonder in multiple formats. Bam a LAM!

That's what her husband said last nite.

Renee is very proud of herself today.

Well, maybe it's the first time she's been allowed to put together a pre-80's set on her own.

Star Wars into Meco "Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band"!

It took me three attempts to see that movie, and each time it was a bit of an adventure.  The
first time me and a couple of college buddies borrowed someone's car and drove forty miles
into Boston, but it was sold out.  We ended up on the beach after midnight in Plymouth, where
there were some phosphorescent creatures in the surf.

Elvis Costello "Watching The Detectives"

Yes mon!  I and I be watchin' dem crazy bald heads in Babylon on disya box mon!  Irie!

BOS for the reggae beat, mon.

I like how the POV of the lyrics flip back and forth between the singer and what's happening on
the TV.

My head is exploding, but it's due to stress in my life.

It's not that anything was particularly bad in this set, but rather that it hasn't held up with
repeated plays over time.  I really don't need to hear that Meatloaf song more often than
once every three or four years.  Even the Lido Shuffle is wearing thin.

I think there are natural cycles, and after the incredible high of late sixties, a corresponding low
was inevitable.  Mainstream pop/rock was played out by the late seventies -- the creative energy
had moved into other genres.

If I compile a "cherry-picked" list for 1977 & 1978, some of the same names are going to show up.
