In addition to Seger's "Old Time Rock'n'Roll", he wrote "One Bad Apple" and "Double Lovin" -- hits for the Osmonds that he composed with the Jackson 5 in mind (but Motown didn't solicit outside writers). He also wrote ZZ Hill's "Down Home Blues" and -- this one surprised me -- "The Only Way is Up", a huge UK pop and dance hit in 1988 for Yazz and the Plastic Population, which apparently he had originally written for Otis Clay (!).

He was also a solo artist in his own right, but he was much more successful as a songwriter.
