Eeek. one from my jukebox-from-hell, certainly. A godawful band IMHO. One of the original Pearl Jam imitators, tho' worse ones (Creed, et al) were yet to come.

I don’t get that. Yes, Live essentially rode the coattails of the Pearl Jam/Nirvana musical ‘revolution’, but I think their sound to be distinct and enjoyable. For Creed, you do have a point (although it seems as if Nirvana was the one most imitated, by Bush and Puddle Of Mudd in particular).

to my ears, virtually every awful band of the last 20 years has a lead singer trying very hard to be Eddie V.  Nickelback is another prime example.

I like Live, too -- at least the few songs I hear on the radio.   But I get that they're derivative.

Pearl Jam.  Now there's a band where all of its imitators (godawful as they were) have somehow managed to be far less irritating than the original.
