Redding "Bob" week of 12/17/12
« on: December 17, 2012, 08:50:10 AM »
Mon 12/17/12: Bob's feeling festive! (9@9 will be all-Xmas all week!)

BOS1 EJ, steppin' in it.

OK, Hanukkah 's over. Sheesh. LN1 Adam Sandler.

Good gawd: BOTH Sandler Hanukkah songs.  Shoot me.

WOS3: No Doubt's hideous "Oi to the World"

Bono, you're no Darlene Love.

OMG: BOS2 Willie Nelson "Here Comes Santa Claus". That's Booker T on organ, ya know.

VHM Petty.

WTF? they backannounced Seger's great "Sock it to Me Santa" but didn't actually play it. Bummer.

Tue 12/18/12: more Xmas.

couple of "Run Rudolph Run"s to start

VHM: Blink 182 "Won't Be Home for Xmas"

Funny, when the Iggles "Please Come Home for Xmas" came out I'd never heard the Charles Brown orig; I assumed Henley and Frey were ripping off the Beatle's "Oh Darling". Turns out Lennon/McCartney cribbed from Mr Brown.

BOS the Ventures' delightfully surf-y "Sleigh Ride"

WOS Mannheim Steamroller, just on principle. What a load of bombastic crapola.

Sentimental VHM John & Yoko, but this is LN based on KOIT airplay alone.

Personally, I don't hate Macca's "Wonderful Xmastime" as much as some people. It's fairly harmless IMHO

and once again, they backannounced a song they didn't play: Ramones.

Wed 12/19/12: Xmas part 3

it's Santa Bob!

BOS Kinks "Father Xmas". This one never gets old.

VHM Beach Boys, "Little St Nick"

BOS2 Eartha, baby.

WOS Madonna's hideous cover of same.

BOS3 JCM's inspired cover of "I Saw Mommy/santa Claus"

WOS2 Mr Buongiovi's ill-considered revamp of "Back Door Santa"

This is the 3rd day in a row that they've back-announced a song they didn't play (Bob Rivers' "Iron man" parody, "I Am Santa Claus")

BOS4 Cheech & Chong. "He's not with Motown, man..." "Well, then he's with Buddha, man."

BOS5-in-perpetuity Brooooooce on da boardwalk wit da Big Man.
