I don't know why I didn't know he directed BOTH those films, but that's pretty gobsmacking. He was an award-winning documentarian (Making of the President 1960) and his first dramatic feature was If it's Tuesday This Must Be Belgium.  I've said many times that (IMHO) the orig Wonka is overrated (some of those songs are really dreadful) but Wattstax is always worth checking out.
