15 minutes in and no comments? Is it really that bad?

another new handle?

I'm bypassing 1989 and listening to a UK retro-chart from 1975 on 2NG.  If AL actually plays something earth-shattering (like one of my long-standing requests) I'll catch it tonite.

Yep, gotta keep my fans guessin'  ;D Apparently I did not get the Molly Shannon connection (Sally O'Malley is 50, just like the Rolling Stones are now).

I had a 10 oclock meeting, and when that was done I didn't feel that 1989 was worth changing stations for.  It might have been great!  But I doubt it.

One would expect more typos from someone called Big Fingers...

It seems we got the Stones and FYC and Petty and R.E.M., as well as the Bangles. Maybe not exactly an LN-fest, but it seems somewhat forgettable.

‎07/12/12 - Thursday! 1989!

(TV: Saturday Night Live - Sally O'Malley (Molly Shannon) "I'm Sally O'Malley. I'm proud to say I'm 50 years old and an not one of those gals who's afraid to hide her age and I like to Kick, shretch and kick.")
1. The Rolling Stones - Rock And A Hard Place
(Movie: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure - Rufus (George Carlin) "If you guys were separated it would have been disastrous for life as we know it. You see, eventually your music will help put an end to war and poverty.")
2. B-52s - Channel Z
(Movie: UHF - (Weird Al Yankovic) "Tonight only on U62. Never before in the history of motion pictures has there been a screen presence so commanding, so powerful, so deadly! He's Conan the Librarian.")
3. Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy
4. Big Audio Dynamite - Contact
(TV: Murphy Brown (Candace Bergen) "You're not backing out on me ... I'll do my Ted Koppel impression.")
5. REM - Stand
6. Hoodoo Gurus - Come Anytime
7. The Bangles - Eternal Flame
(Commercial: Dance Magic Barbie. Ken Doll sold separately)
8. U2 - Dancing Barefoot
(News: Latest richter reading approach 7.0 on Loma Prieta quake. Col. North convicted on three counts for Iran-Contra Affair)
9. Lou Reed - Sick Of You
(News: President Bush talks of the "tremendous concern" over the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince Edward Sound.)
10. Tom Petty - Runnin' Down A Dream
(Movie: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure: Bill S. Preston, Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted Logan (Keanu Reeves) "No way." Rufus (George Carlin) "Yes, way.")

well, I count 4 LNs there (FYC, BAD, REM and TP). At least the B-52s song wasn't "Love Shack". WOS the Bangles -- I'll never understand why they wanted to write their own songs (well, aside from residuals). Not sorry I opted out of this one.
