RIP Johnny Otis, 90
« on: January 18, 2012, 11:37:12 PM »
The R&B legend whose hits included "Willie and the Hand Jive" and 10@10 Halloween fave "Castin' My Spell on You" died Tuesday in Los Angeles.

His show on KPFA in the 90s was sometimes scattered (in later years he had a producer who more or less ran the show and kept Johnny on topic as best he could) but always fun and entertaining.

indeed, in the years just preceding the debut of the 10@10 marathon, when his show was on from 9-noon I listened every Saturday. (wow, that's, like, a dozen years ago)
