I grew up loving "Killer Queen" but now if I ever hear it in a 10@10 set it just annoys me.

Gazoo's Fast Two Songs:

Queen, "Killer Queen"
Spinners, "Rubber Band Man"

They've got a quality in common in the lyric.

Guaranteed to blow your mind!

Well done!  Could we have made that a proper Three Songs?  I couldn't think of a third.

JT, "Steamroller Blues"
Spice Girls, "Outer Space Girls"

(no, I'm not that good -- I Googled)
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

that was weird.

I was right in the middle of trying to post:

"aaack! early Rush!  Dude -- it's WOS2!"

when everything went kerflooey.

But hey -- 1965 on Monday! Bet Bob doesn't have any Alex Trebek CBC clips...

Yeah, I turned off the WM stream downstairs when Rush came on, then when I came upstairs, no server!  Blame it on Rush!

No, blame it on you Rush-haters!  You even THINK about dissing on Rush & your server times out.

Wow.  This would make for one of the best My Three Songs challenges ever for an unsuspecting audience.  (I've long wanted to pitch a publisher on the idea of compiling a ton of these as a book for the light-reading set, but have never done the research on who "owns" the concept and how one clears the use of all the lyrics.)

And don't call me Shirley!

But seriously folks, I didn't rememer the exact date of Dragonfly or Red Octopus at the time, and will take  my answer off the air.

Thank you kindly

I was bored, and looked it up!

Red Octopus (1975)
Remastered CD, Gold CD and Vinyl issued 1997.
Recorded at Wally Heider's, San Francisco, February, 1975. Released June, 1975. #1 for four weeks.

"Tumblin'" or "There Will Be Love"  would've trumped my BOS indeed!

OMG, I'm so glad you know (and dig) "There Will Be Love."  The bridge of that has the same unfathomable effects on me that "Miracles" does.  (And as an aside: The pose of the band on the back cover always gives me a shock-chill feeling when I look at it.  I'm convinced I have been in that room before.  And not to get too weird, but perhaps in a previous life, as I've heard has happened with others.)  Anyway, a piece of trivia about Red Octopus's stay at #1: Those four weeks came in four separate ascents to the top.  Although it came out in June, the album's four weeks at #1 were twice in September and twice in November.  You'll never see something like that happen again!

I made an ark from the light of the stars
And I hewed two mesas of bright silver metal
That sang in the sun like a sail in the wind
And I weave my way back to you . . .   Now I fly . . ."

That group was so hot live during that period.  The only drawback for me, as a Deadhead, was that the shows were pretty canned.  When you went to see the Dead, every night was a different show.  When you saw the Starship, The Rolling Stones, or Pink Floyd back then, the shows were pretty much identical from night-to-night, even the touches that seemed spontaneous at the time.  On a single night, then, the Jefferson Starship in that time was as awesome as anything on the planet.
