Probably no sets this week... Still doing A-to-Z and they're currently in the K's.

UPDATE: as of this afternoon, A-to-Z is in the S's.  Oddity: "A Day in the Life" and "With a Little Help From My Friends" both get played in the "S" section because they're joined-at-the-hip to "Sgt Pepper" and "Sgt Pepper Reprise", respectively.

UPDATE: they're in the last of the W's -- will have to see what their "X" song(s) is/are.

But first I'm subjected to "Wonderful Tonite".

Xanadu by Rush is a must-have.  (Also by Bolivia Neutron Bomb and ELO.)

I'm guessing you'll get yer wish there, pardner.  ELONJ I'm not too sure of (isn't there an ELO version without Livvy?) and "X-Offender" would make me very happy.

meanwhile we got "Won't Get Fooled for the Billionth Time" and the CSN "Wooden Ships" -- I somehow doubt we'll get the JA version too.

ETA: well, here's Rush, but they're doing "Working man", which is NTM. Will we get "Xanadu" too? Stay tuned.

eek: Corrective Soles, "World I Know"

TANC: just after I posted a Beach Boys soundalike "sunshine pop" obscurity on FB as my "Friday Forgotten 45", the Drive gives us "Wouldn't it Be Nice".

eek2: The not-so-fab T-Birds "Wrap it Up". Yo! -- put THIS in yer box, bay-bay. Sting wraps you 'round his Tantric finger.

The gales of November come early: Gordo's a "Wreck"
...

WTFF?? after all that waiting around, they're skipping "X" entirely and heading right to "Y"?  I call bullshit!

Wow, Working Man is new to you?    How lucky for you to be discovering this gem at such a stage in your life!

That's not Neil Peart playing drums on that, btw, that's their first drummer (John Rutsey).

If Peart was around when they wrote that, he probably would have put in some pseudo-intellectual lyrics instead:

Original lyrics:
So I get home at five o'clock,
And I take myself out a nice, cold beer.
Always seem to be wond'rin'
Why there's nothin' goin' down here.

Peart-icized lyrics:
I transport back to home base at dusk,
to receive nourishment from the gods.
Why must I exist on this plane?
To reach the nothingness of man?
(insert drum solo)

I wish there was a like feature on this site.
Mega-like!
(I also was surprised that was the first time RGM  has heard this; one of Rush's best!)

LOL. Dude, we have merely scratched the surface of how much I dislike the Canadian power trio. "Geddy Lee's voice makes dogs' heads explode" is one of my milder sentiments.
