RIP Fritz Manes, 79, Actor/Producer Clint Eastwood films

Fritz Manes, 79, producer of several Eastwood films; also had small acting roles in several Eastwood films.  After serving as assistant to the producer on the 1976 Eastwood films "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "The Enforcer," Manes was associate producer on "The Gauntlet," "Every Which Way But Loose," "Escape From Alcatraz" and "Bronco Billy."  He went on to produce or executive produce "Any Which Way You Can," "Firefox," "Honkytonk Man," "Sudden Impact," "Tightrope," "City Heat," "Pale Rider" and "Heartbreak Ridge."

the article tells of the falling out he had w Eastwood, and quotes Mr Manes as saying Clint was not exactly generous w doling out credit on his productions.   

I just watched Magnum Force (1973), the sequel to Dirty Harry, and in the DVD extras two different people say that Clint's productions were, shall we say, "low cost."   If you see Magnum Force, you'll know what they mean in the scene where the woman goes through the window of a skyscraper and falls many stories.  It's so obviously a blow-up doll---  hilariously cheesy.
