Alan Rubin was one of many gifted session musicians who backed Belushi and Aykroyd in the 'SNL' sketches that spawned the band and went on to appear in the 1980 film 'The Blues Brothers' and a 1998 sequel. He also recorded and performed with Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Blood Sweat & Tears, Aerosmith, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Billy Joel, the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton, among many others.
