Big BOS for Richard Thompson!  Have we ever heard him on 10at10?

I cannot recall, but BOS from me, too.  I saw him at Hardly Strictly a few years back, just him and his guitar, and he brought me to tears, literally.

Fans should experience his CD/DVD of "1000 years of popular music" >> http://www.richardthompson-music.com/1000yrs.asp

He was indeed amazing at HSB.  But oof, this version sounds so overproduced (well, it was the 90s, after all) compared to the acoustic version that was on KFOG Live From the Archives #2 (which I had a copy of *somewhere*, I think).

This album (Rumour and Sigh) was RT's big shot at breaking through to AAA audiences. Produced by Mitchell Froom and engineered & mixed by Tchad Blake, it's got a few session heavyweights (Jim Keltner, Jerry Scheff) to supplement his crew of celtic rock regulars. Still, thanks to some really strong material (i.e. his stellar "1952 Vincent Black Lightning") it's one of his better post-Linda albums, but yeah, it's a little bit shiny on the production side.
Let's get right to it.
