Among his other notable films, "Murphy's War," with Peter O'Toole, "The Friends of Eddie Coyle" with Robert Mitchum, "For Pete's Sake" with Barbra Streisand, "Mother, Jugs and Speed" with Bill Cosby and Raquel Welch, "The Deep" with Nick Nolte, Robert Shaw and Jacqueline Bissett, "Eyewitness" with William Hurt and Sigourney Weaver, and "The Dresser" with Albert Finney and Maggie Smith.  He also directed episodes of TV's "The Saint" and "Secret Agent."  Obit includes link to video of famous "Bullitt" car chase through SF:
