"Dig if you will, the 'trina..."

Ho hum, When Doves Cry, yada yada. What I'd've given to hear "Darling Nikki".

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but even though I thought Prince was kind of silly, I enjoyed the movie.

Oh it's a classic. The peak of music-vid style in films.  He IS silly but he makes it work for him (unlike the follow-up, Under the Cherry Moon which was just ridiculous).

Sorry to have missed Icicle Works, but I guess if we hold to Rod's rule then I can't vote for it since I didn't hear it.

Hope song #10 is something memorable because I can't really cast a vote for "Run To You" or "All She Wants To Do Is Dance".

Listening to the Max on the drive in, and between 7:45 & 8:15 they played the following:

Len "Steal My Sunshine"
Zep "D'yer Mak'r"
Mellancamp "Again Tonight"
Diamond Dave "California Girls"
F Mac "You Make Loving Fun"
Chris Isaak "Wicked Game"
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Okay, I can give at least a VHM to Alan Parsons.  I don't think it was on this track, but Colin Blunstone was among the guest vocalists on Ammonia Avenue.

#9 hit in '99.  Very fun & bouncy song.  The rest of the album is more hip hop, but this is not.

ETA: it was also featured on the soundtrack of the movie Go, a nifty little movie that Doug Liman made between Swingers and The Bourne Identity, which also gave the now ubiquitous Katie Holmes her first starring film role.
