1981 was a big year for classic rock concerts for me.  I saw Billy Squire open for Foreigner and was lucky enough to see Rush on their Moving Pictures tour!

(high fives all around.)

I might have seen the Cars this year, too, but they were pretty bad live.

I saw Rush this summer doing their Moving Pictures thing.  A great show.  They're fun guys.

I hear DEVO has a new album coming out, which they focus-grouped and engineered with complete focus on making it a totally commercially viable product, taking input from fan surveys and all that.

I love those spuds.

Yes, I heard it was great from a friend of mine who works at the Shoreline.  He said that he's not a Rush fan, but he really enjoyed it.  (He also said they were complete pros, a great crew, top notch sound guys and all that.)

now I wish I had gone, but I saw them twice in the past 5 years.  Those guys will be touring until they drop.

actually it came out in June

I'm guessing the focus-group thing didn't exactly work out, based on the lack of airplay.

Same old story: DEVO fans are far more advanced than what Corporate Radio is comfortable with...  :)
