WOS Ray Charles, whoring himself out to the Calif Raisin Board.

I suppose the man liked his raisins, but I have to think that if he could actually SEE the end product commercial, that he'd take his name off!

I've been watching Nanny reruns on Nick-at-Nite, and towards the end of that show's run, he appeared as Fran's grandma's boyfriend. Very strange.

"I'm an adult now!"  VHM to... I forget who this is.

Pursuit of Happiness, iirc. Thought it was the Beastie Boys for just a sec. Now I'd love to hear them in a 10@10 one day.

Now I'd swear Dave played "Fight For Your Right" once, but then I didn't remember Fresh Prince...

listening away from my computer until the end there, you recall correctly.  They were usually abbreviated to TPOH back in the day.

My biggest Woo-Hoo moment was hearing Ana Ng finally, something I asked for many times when Dave would play "Birdhouse" to death.

Very nice ending with the Pursuit of Happiness...VHM.

Eric should fill in when AL's on vacation.

indeed, this was really all I've ever been asking for in these usually boring late '80s/early '90s sets: a couple bustouts and a couple pure pop-chart items. Not so hard to do really, and it was accomplished skillfully today.

ETA: And it wasn't clear from the backannounce if "Eric" chose the songs or AL. She said Eric's dad requested 1988 because Eric's birth was announced by Dave on 10@10 on this date in '88 (wonder what year it was that day?).

Bonus track was Michelle Shocked's When I Grow Up, which is being used for some commercial product. Saw it last night, advertising women's health product of some sort, possibly?  Great song.

Speaking of great songs, I wish I could hear one instead of 21 Guns for once.

I'm proud to say those are Kaiser spots -- touting our mammogram program. "Kaiser women get mammograms -- do you?" or something like that.  Even if I didn't work here, I'd have to say it's a really cool commercial.

I asked AL and she said she put it together.  I was wondering how a 21 year old was a such a fan of Siouxsie, David Lindley, etc. (still possible, but unlikely.)  Oh well.

I'm thinking the Foghead Dad made the request, not Eric himself.  Both my younger brothers got married in '89, so it's certainly within reason that I could have gotten married myself before that & immediately started having kids, in which case I would most certainly have remembered Siouxsie* and the rest.  As it stands I didn't get married until '96, and my kids are turning 10 & 8 next week, not 21.

*  I have a distinct memory (because I had a limo-driving gig on New Years's Eve & was thus sitting inthe car) of the 1988 Year End Countdown on 91X, and "Peekaboo" was #1 overall, narrowly edging out my personal choice - U2's "Desire" which was #2.

Wow, both your kids were born right around Christmas? Big fun at your place around the end of the year.
