Well, AL says it was the Bee Gees.  Maybe an alternate (single?) version?

My feeble search for covers didn't turn up anything...

in yesterday's backsell she said the Social Distortion tune was from Sonic Youth.  I'm just sayin'.

I just emailed her -- she's usually good about replying.

Heard everything but the Skynyrd (no great loss) in the car.  Pretty good set, and a theme that I don't believe Dave ever attempted, so props for both concept & execution.

Nothing wrong with Ray Charles, and this is woefully obscure, but if she'd played "Don't Want To Die In Georgia" by Brewer & Shipley, it would have made my year.  And I would have been almost as excited if she'd worked in "Arizona Skies" by China Crisis, but I think Rob has played that & I know Ginger did once.

But since either of those would be ginormous longshots, I  at least was hoping for a helping of early 70's cheese from amongst the following:
"Arizona" - Mark Lindsay
"Indiana Wants Me" - R. Dean Taylor
"The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" - Vicky Lawrence
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

--Carlos Santana, 2010

Not much of a choice for the bonus track.  I mean, she didn't get a choice.  What's up with that?

My theory is that AL tries to make up for being too obscure in the set by playing a really obvious bonus. It's been the rule in the last few weeks.

That's the impression I get, too.  Its like 10at10 is my time to go wild, but bonus track time means I'm back to the Corp Radio playlist.

New on me - and I thought it was the Bee Gees version we were hearing.

But check out who covers "Massachusetts" on this comp - a name I hadn't thought about in a while.  Shock, shock, horror, horror, shock, shock, horror!

Man, I tuned in during Loretta and Jack's "Portland, Oregon" and was totally confused.  I knew the song was too new to be in a 10@10 and thought they had finished the marathon early.

I was about to call in tell them "YEAH!" because I love that song and wish they'd play it more.

Should've known it was too good to be true that they'd be playing it during normal hours.  :-P
