Early VHM to "Jesus Is Just Alright," a song that managed to piss off Christians and non-Christians alike.
I'm guessing before I read the list that they are playing Doobies and not Byrds?
The Doobies' JIJA is one of those songs that I never knew was a cover for years--I think I was well out of college before I found out that the Byrds had done it first. The Doobies version was so ubiquitous (relatively speaking) that I think it obliterated the Byrds version on the various radio stations I was listening to at the time.
Just one of those inescapable things about being older. It's not that I feel snarky and jaded, it's just that for me, The Byrds version was what I was listening to first. Just like with Black Magic Woman, the Fleetwood Mac version was my first exposure to the song, so Santana came along later, as a cover. It's a good cover, but a cover.
