Toy Matinee gets as much airplay in 1990 as anyone, between this and "Things She Said", but he's only played the one song I really like by them once - "Ballad of Jenny Ledge".

"Nothing Compares 2 U" still reliably chokes me up.  I heard it last night at a Duane Reade pharmacy.

That's sad, but not in the way you mean.  TANC: I heard it in Walgreens the other day -- guess there's a centralized pharmacy-music service!

I just thank god he didn't play "Mandinka" again*, since there are so many great songs on this album.  If Dave ever plays "I Am Stretched On You Grave" I can guarantee that both POC & I will dance a jig wherever we are.

*"Mandinka" was on her debut album in late 1987, yet Dave had played it in 2 of the last 3 sets from 1990.

My gf, while in college, lived next door to Mike Patton.   She remembers coming out onto the porch one night and seeing him there, very drunk and standing at the edge relieving himself.

so I cannot give a BOS to you, Mr Bungle!

well that's good news...

Whaaa? 1990 is considered "fairly old stuff" now? Crap. I'm not sticking around for this.

Well, 1990 was the year I quit my original "career", and changed directions completely.  So, in that sense, it was a lifetime ago, which would make the music fairly old.  It's all relative, and most of my relatives are fairly old.

I'm not a Replacements fan, but I dig "A Squirrel Like You"

oh my!
The one in the middle is called Lucky Pierre, right?

TANC, just this morning my wife began to wax nostalgic (*highly* uncharacteristic for her) about the squirrels in our backyard that won't be coming with us next week when we move.

Send me your address, I'll mail you some. We have plenty. :/
Let's get right to it.
