RIP Charlton Heston

Some may say RIP, others may say RIH (from reading the comments on the sfgate article, which is awful because of his opinions, which he had a right to. A lot of hate there). Dead at the age of 84. Was on both sides of the political spectrum.

"Soylent Green is people!"

I'm not gonna hate on CH, even tho' I disagree with his opinions of the last couple decades. His journey from Hollywood Liberal to rock-ribbed conservative will make a great book/movie. And there ain't many "old Hollywood" movies stars (and he was a HUGE star) left.

Wonder if he made a point of holding onto his weapon at the very end so that someone would have to pry it from his cold dead hands?

He made a lot of great films, and most especially I will give him props for Touch Of Evil, which was famously recut ten years ago according to Orson Welles wishes because Heston had saved Welles' notes.  According to IMDb, Welles only got (and took) the directing gig because Heston pushed for it.
