I taped the set and just listened to his recap, no he did not.

I did a quote search on IMDb for "the Irish got first pick" and came up with nothing.  Maybe later if I get really bored I will search through Cleese's extensive movie history, but I kind a doubt it.  Be easier to ask Dave tomorrow.
