BOS2 rarely-heard Winwood.

And rarely mentioned, too. What song? Time is Running Out?

"Hold On", actually.

VHM to the love-it-or-hate-it Bowie/Crosby duet. "I'm not as young as I look" sez David. Even truer now, bub.

I haven't heard the little chatter between Bing & David for many years.  This remains one of my favorite holiday songs.

BOS to the duet of Der Bingle and Der Bowie.  Cool of Ginger to play the interplay between them that led into it. Gotta wonder what was going thru Bing's head as he was doing this, or if he was aware of Bowie's, ummm, past.
Let's get right to it.

Were Bing and Bowie with the same label at that point? I can only imagine this was a record-company idea -- would there have been anyone at the network young/hip enuf to be pushing for it?

Good thought. I think Bowie was still on RCA (kind of an odd choice, but whatever). No clue what label Bing recorded for, but RCA would not be too big a stretch (unlike, say, Stiff or something). :)

TANC: Peter Hartlaub has an entry on his Chron blog about this very thing, and provides a link to a Wash Post story about how it all came to be...
