Just missed the Gin Blossoms, which was a favorite tune of mine that year.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

I associate both "One Headlight" and its predecessor "Sixth Avenue Heartache" with my arrival in SF -- the Wallflowers were an omnipresent soundtrack from late '96 through mid '97.  Then they covered "Heroes" and it all ended in tears.

I said "feh" to them then and I say "feh" to them now. At least Cate Blanchett won't be playing Jakob in a movie anytime soon.

BOS to Folk Implosion, "Natural One": terribly depressing song from a terribly depressing movie, and one of the unlikelier Top 40 hits of the decade.

From Kids, no? That came out summer '95 -- did it take that long for the song to hit?

Guess they had to pick a year that worked for Brian Setzer, who's headlining the BCO Xmas concert tonight? Tomorrow? Been hearing a lot of Stray Cats on their airwaves after the sets the last couple days.

BOS Too Much, my favorite DMB song. I don't have a second fave, if that tells you anything.
Let's get right to it.

"Did You Ever Look So Nice" was about as close as the Samples got to a pop hit.  Nice that Ginger keeps them in rotation.

Sounds like lots of fun - she's playing B.B. King's on my b-day and if I didn't have other plans I'd go.
