HM to Todd, in another case of Dave preferring another over the hit version (I doubt he's ever playedx ED&JFC's Top 10er from '79 or '80).

Demerits, though, for rhyming "down and out" with "hope's run out."  And that "man in your heart" line always makes me cringe, too.  But the big blowout drums at the end seal it for me.

Dave's been on a Todd kick lately--BOS4 to the *real* version of Love is the Answer.
Let's get right to it.

dang it, busy on the phones at work, missed everything before Todd.

Of course it's good that my little start up venture is getting busy, but still...

I was/am one of them, and very nearly posted to this effect, asking why the twin-spin.

A black cow with root beer?  That sounds like a brown cow to me.  I can't believe she gave it to him for that.

I'd always heard it described as that -- a Coke float is just a Coke float, but a Root Beer float is a Black Cow.  But then I've never worked as a soda jerk.

Well, hmmm.  Guess I really don't know.  But I thought it was a coke thing.  Oh well.

To be fair, Steelyu Dan had plenty of other songs about coke things.  "Glamour Profession," frinstance.
