You are a poet, my friend. Which reminds, in re: your current work frustrations... You are GOOD. You're smart and you have great writing and communication skills and after a dozen years in a job where I deal with people in other offices whose skills in those areas TOTALLY SUCK, I can tell you that you are golden and surely there are other places in NYC that would appreciate you and dearly love to have you. I meant to say this much, much earlier ... but thank you.  :hug:  It's an appreciated confidence boost as I come to the realization that upward movement is a far slower process than I wish it were.

Gaz, I totally echo Mike's thoughts.  You DO have the talent necessary (and then some).  Please don't mistake the frustrating shortages of opportunity for some kind of verdict on the quality of the work of which you are capable.  Just keep putting it out there, you'll find your audience.
