CENTERFIELD - JOHN FOGERTY
HOW SOON IS NOW? - THE SMITHS
MARLENE ON THE WALL - SUZANNE VEGA
LOOK AT LITTLE SISTER - STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN
DON'T YOU (FORGET ABOUT ME) - SIMPLE MINDS
THE WHOLE OF THE MOON - THE WATERBOYS
LONELY OL' NIGHT - JOHN MELLENCAMP
I KNEW THE BRIDE - NICK LOWE
ROAD TO NOWHERE - TALKING HEADS
JUST ANOTHER DAY - OINGO BOINGO

Damn, sorry I missed "The Whole of the Moon", one of my fave songs of the '80s. And the Smiths too.

OMG! It's Jarreau Hands, with a bit of the Moonlighting theme. But I'm here in time for the entire "I Knew the Bride" re-do. Rats.

That & the Heads & (as you mentioned) the Waterboys, are the only things standing out for me.

BTW, Rob said the Waterboys were Scottish -- aren't they Irish?  Surely Irish Greg would've protested their inclusion in the St Pat's set otherwise.

Mike Scott is from Scotland, the group originally formed in London through the Karl Wallinger years, but after he left Scott moved to Ireland & basicaly stayed there to reinvent himself, the result of which was Fisherman's Blues.

ETA:  double-checked my facts, and should add that the last 2 Waterboys releases were made after Scott moved to New York, and now he's moved back to Scotland & has only released one more record, under his own name, leading to the conclusion that the Waterboys are officially defunct.
