5 April 2017: it's... 1996
« on: April 05, 2017, 10:03:23 AM »
Again? seems like DW did '96 relatively recently but maybe I'm hallucinating. (ETA: apparently I am. But he has done 1998 twice in the last 4 months.)  One or 2 mild surprises, but otherwise standard stuff.  Not my favorite year by any stretch.

TANC: Cake's cover of "I Will Survive" was NoName's "Backseat B-side" the other day. (Yeah, he's still doing that feature.)

4/05:

On today’s edition of Soundwaves 10@10, we’ll hear the rock cover of a soul classic dissed by
the original singer because it had profanity, the reunion album that ended up finally destroying
the band for good, and the classic track that was almost discarded because it wasn’t good enough.

It’s … 1996

 1. Beck, Devil’s Haircut
AOL commercial – 1996
 2. Joan Osborne, One of Us
 3. Cake, Will Survive
– Jerry Maguire
 4. Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Scooby Snacks
 5. Journey, When You Love A Woman
 6. Spice Girls, Wannabe
-3rd Rock Form The Sun … I’m Gorgeous!
 7. Savage Garden, To The Moon And Back
 8. Fiona Apple, Criminal
 9. Stabbing Westward, What Do I Have To Do
10. Republica, Ready To Go
BONUS: Smashing Pumpkins, 1979
