Wow -- Parfitt and George Michael within 24 hours of one another. Quo was just a footnote here in the US, but in the UK they have a pretty sizable following, so I imagine this went down pretty hard over there.
I saw them once, at the Fillmore. A good friend was house manager there at the time, and he introduced them to the audience, pronouncing their name as any American might, "Stat-us Quo." Shortly after he got a dressing down from the band's road manager, who insisted (correctly) "They're called STAY-tus Quo, you git!"
Bloody Americans.
(IIRC, a couple of members of Metallica were in the house that night.)
